MODULE 8
BOOK RELATED ACTIVITIES
Follow the assignment instructions.
Assignment: See Syllabus for due no later than date
Create 2 Book Activities for one of your assigned YHBA nominee books. Use your
imagination and develop activities that can be done by an individual, pairs,
small group, or class. Make sure the activity enhances the book and is not 'busy
work' lacking enriching purpose or value.
For each activity:
1. State whether the activity is intended for an individual, pairs, small group,
or whole class.
2. Use your imagination and try to have the type of activity/activities that
best relate to the novel’s content, theme, genre, and writing style
3. The activities should enrich the novel and be fun for the student.
4. Include student handouts, teacher keys, teacher instructions needed to
complete the activity.
5. Handouts and resources created might be needed for, but not limited to:
games, journal starters/prompts, puzzles, project guides, skits, etc.
6. List Indiana's
Academic Standards met by your activity
(include standards for all appropriate grade levels - picture
book = K-3, intermediate = 3-5, middle grades = 6-8)
Be sure to include the title and author of the novel. Please
use a Microsoft Office product to complete your assignment. If unable to use
Microsoft Office products, or you used an online service to develop a resource,
convert your assignment into a PDF file. Email the completed
assignment to lpreddy@msdpt.k12.in.us
no later than 8pm of the due date.
